Update on the cartridge

Paypal still is blocking my funds....sorry! your funds! so I couldn't buy any components yet. Feel free to write them and let them kindly know your opinion.

Besides that, there are a couple of improvements in the cartridge.

Latest features are:
* Plays wave before programming and after programming the flashes.
* Is prepared to support a new BIOS(not ready yet) that will tell you the percentage of Completion of memory flashing process.
* I have added support for all regions, so(theoretically) the cartridge will support all games with any BIOS.
* You can connect the output sounds of the cartridge (it plays a wave when starts programming  a game into the flash memories and another wave when it finishes) to the STV Main Board Audio Amplifier so you can hear all the sounds in your cabinet.

I'll keep you updated.

Status of the STV Project

There is a lot of improvement in the code of the microcontroller in the Multi STV cartridge. It currently takes a maximum of 2.5minutes to load the longest game. This will be reduced to about 30 seconds in a couple of days.

After that, the speaker will play the Wav file of our choice that is read from the micro SD Card.

Also I'm going to add the USB port, so that it will allow for updating the code of the ARM for future versions :))

It still only reads what is in folder \game, jumpers will be added very soon.

Hopefully next week, I'll post a vide showing how it loads and how to change game and after that I'll start taking payments.

Stay tuned!

The moment of truth

OK, so software part is almost ready. Still quite a lot of tests to go, but we are in the final round.

Everybody that is interested on getting one or more, please send me a PM in ArcadeOtaku, Neo-geo or Arcade museum forums. This will most probably be a one time batch. No more chances.

We need to reach at least 70-80 units to reach break even.

Look forward to hearing from you!

STV Prototypes almost ready!

As you can see, the board includes a speaker at SP-1/SP+1. The idea is that when a game loads, it will play some wave sounds, completely customizable as they will be read from the SD.

For example a nice "Oyuken!" when the load has finished or whatever you like.

See pictures below!

The microcontroller is an ARM. See here:

The prototypes are ready to assemble and test! Then comes code for the microcontroller which is still quite in development.

How do you like it? Let me know.

More news coming soon.

Releasing Fist of the North Star!

Sorry for the luck of Updates. Real Life, work and ST-V are keeping me very busy.

I think I know how to solve the issue of black screen in some games and will get back very soon. Also I have almost ready conversion of driving games.

Enjoy!

Btw. I just got 3 new Taito F3 cartridges....I can't stop thinking how nice would be a Multi-Game cartridge for this system. Probably many things can be "recycled" from STV projects :)
