Update and Clarification (UPDATE 1)

This week I'll send the two CPS3 ISOS (custom and SH2) to all the donors that wanted to have the CPS3 CD.

When I get their feedback then I feel comfortable to order printing the final CDs. This should happen in two weeks.

Following with Atomiswave to Naomi Project, I've seen a lot of misinformation and wrong assumptions that I'll try to clarify. I'm working on converting all the games, this is the final goal of this proejct, even the racing and shoting ones.

I'm going to release the games publicly in bundles of 3-4 games as soon as I can. Games will be release when 10 donations of over $20 have been achieved. Please notice that the meter on the right is manually updated. It's not automatic. If you donated €40/$50 then you'll get a DVD with all games and design by Alex once all the games have been converted.

I will release however the games as soon as they are ready to the donnors so they can test it in advance and to thank them for their support. If they want to have the DVD earlier I can send it to them, but I think it makes little sense if it's not ready.

Hope this clarifies everything.

* UPDATE 1: I have sent Dolphin Blue and Rumble Fish for Naomi to the donors.
* UPDATE 2: I have sent Final (hopefully) ISOS of CPS3 for standard and custom sh2. If you have donated or have reported at least 1 bug (which means you are interested on this and are not a rom collector) and you haven't received the email with the links, let me know. I won't print the CDs until I get general approval.

  1. Cool. I was one of the ones that donated for the cd but I haven't been able to test any yet. Hopefully by next week I will have my netdimm setup done and can help you test some of the games.

  2. I sent money via US Paypal because your donate link goes to a foreign Paypal login page. I may be paranoid, but maybe you'd get more donations if you also had a link to the US site.

  5. I'm pleased that clarity has been achieved, I think that what La pastilla roja de matrix (Darksoft) has suggested is a fair request. Converting these games is not an easy task. To add to the difficulty, each title is unique, and so must be worked on individually. That process takes considerable time, time which he could otherwise put to paid work or indeed rest and leisure! ;)

I do like the idea of publicly releasing multiple games in blocks once a dontation threshold has been met, and those whom donate do of course have the bonus of getting the converted games before anyone else.

Of course, I know Darksoft well enough to understand that proceeds from these donations would be used to help fund his next projects. Everybody wins. :)

I myself look forward to testing them the "Naomiswave" releases as they are done (testing both on CF box and via netboot). I'll be in touch with Darksoft regarding any possible bugs or glitches - so far though, everything that has been done on this project looks pretty flawless.

    Encouraging progress! :)

    1. Glad you chimed in Ian. Someone else with cred in the arcade scene. You can understand what he is going through. I encourage everyone to check out Ian's site for his CPS2 project as well.

There is still the issue with KOV booting on N! but not N2 but I am fairly certain that once he gets into these conversions more the reason will become obvious. And I'm sure it is frustrating at times when the games work flawless in MAME but then won't boot on real hardware. It doesn't make finding the problem much easier...

I also like the bundle idea here. I think that it was a great idea by Darksoft.

  6. Like Paladin I sent my donation through the US Paypal because that's what is more comfortable to me. Also to show my support for your project.
Cna't wait to get to test your rumble and dolphin and other upcoming titles. I play every game through at least 1 time with 2 players.

  7. I just donated twice this morning. 30euro for the CPS3 cd and 40euro for the atomiswave dvd. Do these count for more than one donation towards the goal? :)

Unfortunately I have not been able to test the Atomiswave conversions yet, long story short I don't have 3.3v on my cabinet at the moment. Will be resolved soon. I have been however testing the CPS3 carts every step of the way. I have created a SH2 cart of my own and it works like a champ.

Keep up the great work! I am going to test the atomiswave conversions as soon as I get my naomi fired up. Thanks again!

  10. Unfortunately, SF3-2I appears to be only playable in USA region for standard SH2.
